About the Role

As a Team Lead, you are responsible for managing, coaching, and mentoring a team of digital designers to drive operational excellence through KPI and metric management. A key part of your leadership is cultivating a team environment that reflects the Dandy Drivers which are the foundation of how we work, grow, and succeed at Dandy.

What You'll Do

Managing & Coaching

  • Lead a team of 10–15 digital designers.

  • Oversee Focus Area scheduling, shifts, training, and time off (PTO & STO).

  • Monitor individual quality and performance through regular audits.

  • Continuously Performance Manage & Coach designers through 1:1s and feedback sessions to drive improvement.

  • Establish and track development plans for all unscheduled designers.

  • Identify when support is needed and leverage internal resources.

  • Understand designer career goals and document growth plans.

Metrics

  • Understand the business metrics Dandy uses to evaluate the design workforce for both quality and UPD. Be able to articulate how each team member is performing against these metrics.

  • Collaborate with leadership to set quality and throughput targets, and ensure your team meets them.

  • Ensure your team is aligned with systems and processes, escalating major issues so the broader system can be updated & adjusted as needed.

Foster a Culture of Success

  • Foster an inclusive, positive, and high-performing team culture.

  • Promote team engagement through team-building activities, celebrating both team achievements and personal milestones.

  • Manage front line sentiment and workplace concerns in partnership with leadership and human resources to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive working environment

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Communicate clearly with other teams and leadership.

  • Collaborate effectively across functions to solve problems and ensure alignment.

  • Share updates, surface issues, and build strong working relationships across teams.

Project & Process Ownership

  • Take ownership of change management and lead your team through transitions effectively.

  • Make recommendations to improve processes.

  • Deliver high-quality work on team or department projects.

  • Use sound judgment and root cause analysis when solving problems.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Be a go-to knowledge resource for your area.

  • Apply structured decision-making to support team outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong design experience in CAD/CAM dental workflows, with deep knowledge of your product line and a track record of consistently high quality and throughput.

  • Proven ability to share knowledge, mentor peers, and support the development of others.

  • Skill at learning teammates’ strengths, spotting areas for improvement, and providing constructive, actionable feedback.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload distribution, and adapt to changing business needs.

  • Willingness to work in a high-velocity, evolving environment while maintaining a positive and solutions-oriented mindset.

  • Comfort working with multiple systems and eagerness to learn new tools and processes quickly.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to adapt your message to both peers and leadership.

  • A collaborative mindset, building strong working relationships across teams.

  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and address problems hands-on, setting the tone for the team through your own example.

  • Intellectual curiosity and a proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

  • Strong written and spoken English.

Bonus Points For

  • Prior experience directly managing, mentoring, training, and/or informally leading others in a production environment.

  • Experience facilitating peer learning or team discussions to improve skills and processes.

  • Familiarity with data and spreadsheets for tracking performance or workflow metrics.
